Angel is a character in Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner.
Profile
Angel is a mysterious being that appears in the Karma Temple, describing themselves as "the one [the Junkyard's inhabitants] invoke as [they] gaze upon the heavens". They speak with a female voice through the Dissemination Machine and a holographic avatar. They have an interest in ending the stalemate in the Junkyard and granting the victorious tribe passage into Nirvana.
Angel appears as a hologram of a red eye with a yellow iris surrounded by a metallic ring with several nails perforating the circumference and magenta lines resembling circuitry emanating from the center. The eye contracts and dilates according to Angel's tone. In Varin Omega's recollection of them, their eye is instead an ambiguous light. Unlike the residents of the Junkyard up to that point and the Dissemination Machine they use to communicate, Angel does not speak with a monotone and exhibits emotion.

Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner
After the Junkyard's inhabitants are infected with the Atma virus and Harley's death by the hands of the Embryon, Angel, through the appearance of the Dissemination Machine, summons the remaining tribe leaders to the Karma Temple in Sahasrara. There, they hijack the Dissemination Machine to speak to the leaders directly and decree a new commandment for the Temple: the tribe that stands alone in the Junkyard and brings Sera will be granted passage into Nirvana. When Serph requests more information, Angel seemingly has an outburst and disappears in a flash of light, leaving information for the Karma Temple regarding Atma to be relayed to the leaders.
Later, through a flashback from Varin Omega's perspective, it is revealed that he privately communicated with Angel at some point after the previous summoning, as Varin had awakened to his identity during the meeting at the sight of Serph. There, he claimed to be Colonel Beck and to know Angel's true identity, then demanded to leave the Junkyard. Angel retorted that it was the Colonel himself who requested that the Junkyard should be locked and that he should open the gates of Nirvana himself. Despite their belief that every person should be judged by their Karma, Angel, in a show of pity towards Varin, grants him the Hunger Wave ability.
