Template:Softredirect/Documentation

Purpose

Notice template used to inform that a page or section exists as a soft redirect to avoid accidentally spoiling readers without warning, as opposed to redirecting the subject's name to another page (a hard redirect) that would immediately spoil. The template in turn links back to the 'main' subject page for further, complete reading. This practice should be done to curb spoilers involving alternate identities / forms of characters and other subjects. Pages that are soft redirects should be treated as distinct subject pages, covering only what is pertinent to that specific subject and avoiding anything about it that would be considered spoilery.

Usage

Parameter	Description
section	Must be given a value (such as "1" or "y") to display. Changes header to denote a section.
link	Link to a main subject page or section for complete reading. E.g. the split subject's true identity, etc. This must be the page name itself without brackets.
