Dimension Variants are a concept in Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2 that refers to additional versions of Demons that were already present in the game differentiated by their skills and design.
Profile
Dimensional Variants are Demons who have been summoned by the Summoning Portal from another dimension.
Some demons considered Dimensional were not initially released as such, but were later included under the label, i.e. Alice (Undead).
Gameplay
Generally, Dimensional Variants can only be obtained through Dimensional Summons, where multiple Dimensional Variants are included within the gacha pool
, however there may be exceptions for Summons held during special events like anniversaries or holidays.
There are two Dimensional Summons
Furthermore, some Dimensional Variants are not available through the general Dimensional Summon and must be obtained through their own specific Summons.
Dimensional Variants are considered identical to the original meaning that they are unable to be used on the same team.
Some Demons are only nominally considered Dimensional Variants and are not included within the Dimensional Summons. Similarly, some demons are duplicates of preexisting demons, but are not considered Dimensional Variants, such as Masakado (Hero) and Masakado (Fury).
