According to designer [[Masayuki Doi]], Amanozako was designed with the idea of a memorable character that players would find endearing. Her wings and sandals were elements taken from [[Tengu]], while the colors and patterns on her clothing were inspired by that of ancient Japanese civilization. Since Amanazako was born from [[Susano-o]], she was designed to look slightly artificial, with her hairstyle made to resemble a helmet.
