- I recently came across a video that claimed that the guide book for SMTV confirmed that Koshimizu was a proto-friend. Can we verify this? User:Herekit (talk) 21:04, 29 May 2024 (AEST)
- The text the video is referring to shows up on page 403, and I'm assuming it's the caption below the image: "その外見からもわかるように、神造魔人アオガミ型のモ デル。ユヅルの中に半身を見出し、終局まで共に在った。" and the word for proto-fiend is "神造魔人". I cant read the language myself and the output in Google translate/deepl seems a little weird (says he's "a model of the proto-fiend Aogami", which I personally assume means he just looks like Aogami but idk) so I'll let someone else translate, here's the info though. - According to Japanese websites, Aogami is a Proto-Fiend created by Koshimizu, based on Koshimizu himself. That sentence uses "model" to mean "based on", rather than "is a model of". For example, Fuefuki City is one of the three "models" for Inaba in P4, but it doesn't mean that Fuefuki, a real city, is a "model" of a fictional city, it means the fictional city is based on Fuefuki; hope that helps to illustrate the difference. A translation of the bit Stego posted might be, "As you can tell by [his?/their?] appearance, the Aogami-type Proto-Fiend was based on Koshimizu". This particular text isn't saying that Koshimizu himself is a Proto-Fiend, but there might still be somewhere else in the game or in the book that it says that.
