Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse

Hoping to aid Flynn in his fight for Tokyo, Nanashi and Asahi visit Kanda-no-yashiro after Odin directs them to a powerful demon sealed in the Ark at the bottom of the shrine. The area where the Ark is housed in is accessible from a well on the shrine's grounds.

As Nanashi's party explores the depths underneath the shrine, they encounter a mixture of angels and demons patrolling the shrine for intruders, alongside three barriers blocking further progression. To break the barriers, a crest must be placed in the seal creating the barrier. Two of the crests, the Mallet Crest and the Mirror Crest, are protected by forces sent by Merkabah and Lucifer, who are soundly defeated by Nanashi. The final crest, the Horse Crest, is hidden in a chamber on B2F. Upon ridding the final barrier, Nanashi is able to access the chamber that houses the Ark.

It is in this chamber where Sukuna-Hikona resides, acting as a guardian for the Ark. When Nanashi and Asahi approach with the intention of freeing the demon inside the Ark, the demon stops them from advancing further, revealing the Ark's purpose in sealing away dangerous foreign gods. He then engages them in battle, but is defeated. With the Ark's guardian out of the way, Odin reappears to congratulate Nanashi for defeating Sukuna-Hikona then reiterates his order to break the seal on the Ark. Asahi begins to doubt Odin's intentions, but the god continues to pester Nanashi into breaking it. Whether Nanashi chooses on his own accord or is forced by Dagda to do so, the seal is broken by his hand, releasing Krishna. Odin rewards the two kids for freeing the deity, then departs with Krishna, whilst the party realizes the severity of their actions. The party then leave Kanda-no-yashiro in pursuit of Krishna and Odin.

Nanashi and his party can revisit the Ark after Krishna's plans are thwarted in the Cosmic Egg. There, they discover Krishna has been resealed inside the object once more. He asks why the party has come to see him, knowing that none of them are the type to gloat over his loss. Dagda answers by requesting his assistance in defeating YHVH. Krishna accepts, but due to being sealed, he can only provide support via fusion.

End of spoilers.
