Isamu Nitta is a character in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne.

Profile

Isamu is a nonchalant, hormonal teenager. He openly discusses his crush on his homeroom teacher, Ms. Takao, and even involves his friends, the protagonist and Chiaki Tachibana, in helping him seduce her.[1] Beneath his clownish antics, however, he is slowly revealed to be deeply lonely and insecure.

Isamu dons a signature gray newsboy cap and flame-patterned boots. He wears a white shirt covered by a black vest and a red and white necklace that matches his boots, as well as ripped black skinny jeans with a silver belt buckle resembling a demonic, horned face that matches a similar ring on his right hand. He has two longer locks of hair framing both sides of his face, and without his hat, his hairline and the locks form a teardrop-shaped frame around his face.

According to Kazuma Kaneko, Isamu's outfit reflects his nature as a person who likes to present himself well and condescend to others, but hates being condescended to. However, as a NEET his fashion sense is based on online models, and he doesn't realize that this aesthetic is not normal in real life.[2]

Trivia

  • According to Kazuma Kaneko he designed Isamu as a people pleaser who would choose his fashions based on gaining the approval of others.[3][4]
  • The design of his second form shows that he can never get the power he wants.[5]
  • There is a report claiming that Kaneko stated in his exhibition that Isamu's buckle and ring are modeled after Azazel.[6]
