Fusion Spells, also called Combo Skills or Transfer Skills, are a type of spell in the Megami Tensei franchise that involve the combination of two or more skills, or the powers of two or more users, acting at the same time, resulting in the creation of unique skills that often have special effects or produce amplified versions of the skills used to form them.

Transfer Skills in Imagine involve the player's active demon and a demon in their stock. Once unlocked, the player may cast a Transfer Skill by clicking on the demon's portrait in their Transfer Skill Stock display, consuming an amount of Stocks and Magnetite. The used Transfer Skill depends on the stocked demon's inheritance type and both demons' stats and features. Some special Transfer Skills require both a specific active demon and a specific stocked demon.[1]
Persona 2: Innocent Sin
- Main article: List of Persona 2: Innocent Sin Fusion Spells
Fusion Spells in Innocent Sin are spells activated by having different party members use certain skills or types of skills in a specific order during the course of a single round of battle, which results in moves with unique effects, or moves with an output that resembles a more powerful version of the skills used to create it. Fusion Spells are only usable in battle and in order for them to succeed all participants must be alive, cast their respective skills consecutively (although enemy turns do not interrupt the process), and cannot be affected by a status effect that would prevent them from using their Persona that turn. A comprehensive list of Fusion Spells found in Persona 2: Innocent Sin is linked immediately above.
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment
- Main article: List of Persona 2: Eternal Punishment Fusion Spells
Fusion Spells in Eternal Punishment function generally the same as they do in Innocent Sin, with the requirements for Fusion Spells to occur being identical, as well as the behavior of the majority of spells. Some spells, however, have adjusted or modified "ingredients" that differ from Innocent Sin. A separate list of Fusion Spells in Persona 2: Eternal Punishment is linked immediately above.
Persona 3 and Persona 3 FES
- Main article: List of Fusion Spells (P3FES)
Fusion Spells in Persona 3 and Persona 3 FES act as special moves with unique names that are performed by combining the power of two Personas at the same time during battle. Only Makoto Yuki is capable of utilizing Fusion Spells, requiring two compatible Personas to be in his stock, and to have one of them equipped during battle. When the requirements are met, the Fusion Spell will appear as a skill in both Personas' move sets, only visible during battle, and can be used at any time at the cost of a percentage of his SP. When activated, an animation will play displaying Yuki's character portrait, as well as the respective Persona portraits, before the move is used. Fusion Spells typically have a wide variety of possible effects and a list of Persona 3 FES Fusion Spells can be found linked immediately above.
Persona 3 Portable
- Main article: List of Fusion Spells (P3P)
Fusion Spells are activated by single-use items that correspond to a given spell, and Fusion Spell items can be used any time by the protagonist via selecting them in the item menu exclusively during battle. Because Fusion Spells are items, the two Personas typically required to cast any given Fusion Spell are not required to be in the user's stock, and using them does not cost any SP. Despite this, the same animation will play as in Persona 3 and Persona 3 FES before a spell is used. Fusion Spell items can be acquired in a number of ways, such as trading gems at Mayoido Antiques or via Vision Quests in Tartarus. A list of Persona 3 Portable Fusion Spells is linked immediately above.
Persona 3 Reload
- Main article: List of Theurgies
Fusion Spells function similarly to the original release of the game, however, they are now assigned to Makoto Yuki's Theurgy instead of costing SP. The Theurgies are unlocked in the Velvet Room when both participating Personas have been registered to the Compendium and do not require them to be in the stock. A list of Theurgies is linked immediately above.
Persona 4 Golden
Fusion Spells make a slight appearance in Persona 4 Golden as an evolved form of Follow-Up attack between two compatible party members that may occur after an All-Out Attack fails to defeat all enemies on the battlefield. Each Fusion Spell has a unique name and requires two specific party members to both be in the party at the same time, however, each Fusion Spell has the same and equal effect, serving as an extension of damage to the previous All-Out Attack. Any of the following Fusion Spells can occur under these conditions so long as both people are on the battlefield:
- Twin Dragons: Chie Satonaka + Yukiko Amagi
- Junes Bomber: Yosuke Hanamura + Teddie
- Beauty and the Beast: Kanji Tatsumi + Naoto Shirogane
Yu Narukami does not share a Fusion Spell with any members of the party.
Digital Devil Saga series
Combo Skills in the Digital Devil Saga series are skills used between two or more combatants, requiring them to have a specific set of skills set during battle. Any combatant with a compatible skill for an available Combo Skill can initiate it, provided there is at least one Press Turn available for each participant and they can each pay the its cost. If the skill would generate a Half turn, it does so for every Press Turn that was consumed to cast it (for example, a Combo Skill that consumes 2 Press Turns generates 2 Half turns). Combo Skills consist both of unique skills and skills that can be used normally, but can be accessed earlier via Combo Skills.
