Chiaki came from an upper-class background. She is one of the Reason holders and represents the Yosuga reason. She wears a zipper-up jean jacket that goes down to her knees like a skirt with a metallic belt. She also has boots of similar coloring.
After being given power by Gozu-Tennoh and becoming a Pseudo-fiend her skin becomes pale and her formerly dark hair turns completely white. The sleeves of her jean jacket are gone, and her right arm becomes a distorted tree-branch-like appendage whose design extends to her mouth.

Trivia
- In the initial English release of Nocturne, Chiaki's family name was changed to Hayasaka. This is because her original family name, Tachibana, is nine characters long, and text strings for names in Nocturne have an eight-character limit. In Nocturne HD Remaster, this limit was raised, and her family name was changed back to Tachibana.
