Persona 3
Akinari is a young man with an incurable disease who takes solace in reading and writing to pass the time he has left. After reaching a certain rank with the Hanged Man Social Link at the Naganaki Shrine, Akinari will appear on the playground. At first he seems concerned about you playing with a child, but quickly excuses himself. Akinari becomes available every Sunday at the shrine's playground bench.
At the end of his Social Link, Akinari finishes a story he wrote after meeting the protagonist named The Pink Alligator.

Trivia
- During Kanji Tatsumi's rank 6 Social Link in Persona 4, which takes place two years after Persona 3, there's a reference to a book about a pink alligator.[1] This is Akinari's story, which Mitsuru Kirijo had published after discovering his notebook that had previously been left in the care of the protagonist. The book spread via word of mouth, though no one knows who the author is.[2]
- Tohru Adachi's rank 5 Social Link added for Persona 4 Golden also references the book.[3]
- In Persona 5, Yusuke Kitagawa is shown reading The Pink Alligator on August 1st while he stays at Leblanc.
