Phoenix Ranger Featherman R television program in Persona 3 Reload

Phoenix Ranger Featherman (Japanese: 不死鳥戦隊フェザーマン, Hepburn: Fushichō sentai fezāman) is a popular tokusatsu TV franchise in the Persona universe. Likely based on 90s Super Sentai show Chōjin Sentai Jetman, it follows a team of bird-styled heroes. Their adventures often parallel or foreshadow plot events in the game where they appear.

Game Appearances

Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment

The Featherman show featured in the Persona 2 duology is Phoenix Ranger Featherman.

Persona 3

The Featherman show featured in Persona 3 is Featherman R (Japanese: フェザーマンR, Hepburn: Fezāman R). Ken Amada is a fan of the show, though he pretends not to be as he tries to act more mature than his age. When the protagonist checks what's on TV at the Iwatodai Dorm, sometimes there will be a preview for the next episode of Featherman.

Persona 4

Featherman comes up primarily in the Temperance Social Link where Yuuta Minami is a fan of Neo Featherman (Japanese: ネオフェザーマン, Hepburn: Neo fezāman).[a]

Persona 4 Golden

Golden adds costumes based on Neo Featherman. Party members will make comments about costumes the protagonist gives them. Naoto Shirogane in particular is a fan of Neo Featherman.[1]

Persona 5

The Featherman show featured in Persona 5 is Neo Featherman Again (Japanese: ネオフェザーマン アゲイン, Hepburn: Neo fezāman agein), though several references are made to the earlier Featherman R show, including a poster on Futaba Sakura's bedroom wall.

Persona 5 Royal

Royal introduces the retro minigame Featherman Seeker (Japanese: フェザーマンシーカー, Hepburn: Fezāman shīkā), featuring aspiring Featherman Gray Pigeon.
