Minamoto no Yoshitsune, born Ushiwakamaru (牛若丸) was a Japanese military commander. At the age of 15, in 1174, Yoshitsune is recorded as having defeated the bandit chief Kumasaka Chohan, which is re-enacted in the ''Noh'' play ''Kumasaka''. He later defeated [[Benkei]] in a duel and went on to lead numerous victories against the Taira clan. During the {{Wp|Genpei War}} alongside his half-brother {{Wp|Minamoto no Yoritomo|Yoritomo}}, he continued to perform admirably, becoming one of the most popular ''samurai'' of his era. His crowning achievement was the Battle of Awazu, where he killed his cousin Minamoto no Yoshinaka and was given Ōmi Province to govern.<ref name="turnbull">Turnbull, Stephen (1998). Mother Harlot appears as a skeletal woman wearing a red veil and a short dress with a red trim around her breasts and shoulders, with the rest of it being purple. She has purple gloves and ankle bracelets, tightened around her ankles by black bands that have a skull crest on them with her feet exposed showing she has red painted toenails. She holds a gold jewel-encrusted chalice in her right hand with fog coming out of it.

The beast she rides in red with the pattern of black lozenges all over its body. True to its origin, the beast has seven heads, the upper three having two horns while the lower four have one, for a total of ten. Each head is wearing a crown, and has a snout somewhat resembling a pig's, sharp teeth with noticeably longer molars, and graying hair. It ends with a tail that resembles that of a dragon's, having a tail end that looks like a paintbrush.

If the [[Protagonist (Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey)|Protagonist]] has completed the EX [[Mission]] "[[Before the holy battle III]]" and is law-aligned, he can accept the EX mission "[[The holy dragonslayer]]", in which [[Kazfiel]] and [[Aniel]] ask him to slay a "dragon" as a final challenge. They say that this demon is one of the ones responsible for the drastic changes the world has been facing, and point the Protagonist to the door in [[Sector Eridanus]] where they had sealed the demon behind. Opening the door leads to the Protagonist meeting Mother Harlot and her dragon, the aforementioned dragon the angels spoke of. After her defeat, the Protagonist has the choice to either finish her and her dragon off, let them escape, or do nothing. If he finishes her off, he strikes her and she dies without a scream. In Japanese folklore, Sui-Ki{{note|{{Translit|ja|水鬼|Suiki|meaning=lit. "Water ogre"}}}} is one of the four legendary [[oni]] said to have served the powerful clan leader Fujiwara no Chikata. The most famous account of Fujiwara no Chikata's Four Oni appears in volume 16 of the 14th-century war chronicle ''Taiheiki'', in the chapter "Nihon Chōteki no Koto" ("The Enemies of the Imperial Court of Japan"). During the reign of {{wp|Emperor Tenji}}, Chikata is said to have led a rebellion against the Imperial Court with four oni: [[Kin-ki]], [[Fuu-Ki|Fū-ki]], Sui-ki, and [[Ongyo-Ki|Ongyōki]]. Sui-Ki was said to possess the ability to cause floods that drowned enemies on land. In Japanese folklore, Kin-Ki is one of the four legendary [[oni]] said to have served the powerful clan leader Fujiwara no Chikata. Ongyo-Ki is fought as a boss for the [[Challenge Quest]] "[Tgt] Minami Sunamachi Demon".

The client of the quest reports that some [[Hunters]] looking for [[relics]] have gone missing and have even died after having a run-in with a demon, leading to [[Nanashi]] and his party looking into the matter themselves. As they check through the empty buildings in [[Minami Sunamachi]], the party struggles to find any sign of the demon mentioned in the reports. They decide to leave and report their lack of findings, but are suddenly ambushed by Ongyo-Ki and forced into battle. Once defeated, Ongyo-Ki is impressed at being seen by Nanashi then thanks him for the entertaining game of hide-and-seek before vanishing.

===Origin===
In Japanese folklore, Fū-ki is one of the four legendary [[oni]] said to have served the powerful clan leader Fujiwara no Chikata. The most famous account of Fujiwara no Chikata's Four Oni appears in volume 16 of the 14th-century war chronicle ''Taiheiki'', in the chapter "Nihon Chōteki no Koto" ("The Enemies of the Imperial Court of Japan"). During the reign of {{wp|Emperor Tenji}}, Chikata is said to have led a rebellion against the Imperial Court with four oni: [[Kin-ki]], Fū-ki, [[Sui-ki]], and [[Ongyo-Ki|Ongyōki]]. Fū-Ki was said to possess the ability to summon powerful winds capable of blowing away enemies and their fortifications. When the court sent the warrior and poet Ki no Tomoo to suppress the rebellion, Tomoo composed a ''{{wp|Waka (poetry)|waka}}'' that caused the four oni to retreat, leading to Chikata's defeat. Due to their association with wind, [[Kazuma Kaneko]] designed Fuu-Ki with a large hole going through its head to reference a jet engine air intake. Nadja can be found in the [[Old Suidobashi|old aqueduct]] while [[Aleph]] is on his way to rescue [[Hiroko]] from the [[Internment Facility (Shin Megami Tensei II)|prison]] in the [[Factory (Shin Megami Tensei II)|Factory]] district. When found, she will exclaim that he is cute and joins his party, then teleporting them to a locked door that allows them quick passage to the labor camp. When Aleph frees Hiroko from her cell, Nadja will ask him if she is his girlfriend. If he says yes, Nadja will call him a liar and get frustrated that he does not respond to her feelings. If he says no, she will respond that she can still tell he likes her. She then decides to fuse with her, so that she can be part of the one he cares for, restoring Hiroko's mental state and increasing her stats permanently.

If Aleph frees Hiroko without ever meeting Nadja however, trying to meet her after the fact will have her scoff at him and proclaim that she will never become his ally, and tells him to get lost.

====Visionaries====
Nadja is featured in one [[Visionary]] cutscene in the Game Boy Advance and iOS versions of the game.

In "Necklace of Hope", a [[Holy Knight]] stumbles upon Nadja in the Factory. After recognizing that she isn't human, he realizes he can take advantage of the situation, and begins to act in a very predatory manner, attempting to beckon her to him so they can "talk". Nadja can see through his deception however and bluntly affirms that the Holy Knight wants to perform experiments on her body. This gives him pause before he resumes his efforts in convincing her to go to him, trying to move closer to her, but Nadja once again calls him out on it. He insists that he just wants to talk, but Nadja reads him easily, pointing out the presence of his nerve bullets, no doubt to knock her out, and that he is not popular with women, which enrages the man. He realizes that she can read his mind, and before he can attack, Nadja teleports away, taunting him and saying that she could never be with a man thinking such impure thoughts, leaving the Holy Knight to silently stew in his humiliation alone.

* In the Super Famicom version of ''Shin Megami Tensei II'', when Nadja fuses with Hiroko at the Internment Facility, a message will pop up saying that each of Hiroko's stats have been raised by one point. This is bugged however; Hiroko's stats will not actually increase. Additionally, if Aleph does not have Nadja with him when he rescues Hiroko, his stats will actually receive the stat increase instead. These bugs were fixed in future versions of the game.
